Course Details


The dental assistant is a crucial team member in the CAD/CAM office. The assistants' ability to properly image, design, fabricate and polish CAD/CAM restorations can drastically increase productivity. This course will not only offer in-depth and hands-on training for the assistant, but also test the following abilities:

  • Identify different materials and the benefits/limitations of each
  • Identify different design modes and when each is indicated
  • Digital impressioning (perfect pictures)
  • Locating and utilizing the various tools in the 4.0 software

*A written test will be administered at the end of level I and must be passed prior to commencing level 2 certification.


A level 2 certified assistant will be able to design more complex restorations as well as be proficient in patient education/interaction to aid in treatment planning. This course will test the following abilities:

  • Designing a bridge
  • Characterizing a veneer
  • Utilizing lab software
  • Designing implant crowns
  • Designing quadrants
  • Converting composite/amalgams to inlays/onlays chairside

*A machine test will be administered and must be passed to achieve Level 2 certification.
